WRITING A THESIS

In 2010, because of the European initiative for the exchange of young officers inspired by Erasmus, the Theresan Military Academy (TMA) started new efforts to facilitate exchanges.

 

Within the frame of the FH-Diploma Programme Military Leadership and FH-Bachelor Programme Military Leadership, cadets are to work out Master- and Bachelor-Theses with the topic "exchange possibilities for officer cadets between a basic officer education-institution in a designated country and TMA".

 

All theses refer to academic and non - academic basic officer education and exclude branch - specific training. Within the frame of a one-year-work, TMA's cadets are to compare curricula of one European Basic Officer Education Institution to the TMA-curricula. As a first, step all the foreign curricula are to be translated into German or English. In a second step, exchange possibilities referring to content and time are to be detected.

All the theses are part of TMA's academic programme, a positive certification (inclusive defence of the respective thesis) is a pre-condition for graduation; elaborations are to be in German, parts in English, if necessary.

So far institutions' curricula of the following countries were compared to TMA's curricula:
